About Me:
My name is Lia Carrari Rodrigues, born in 1983 in Brazil. I am a vegetarian, I think all animals are my friends and vegetarian food can be very sophisticated. My favorite is Indian food! I can barely resist the idea of palak paneer and goulab jamuns! But I also like Brazilian food, acarajé without all the sea food stuff and tapioca with cheese or coconut!
I graduated in Computer Science in 2006 and now I am getting my Master's Degree in Computer Engeneering. As any geek I love computers and every sort of technological stuff. I also love computer games. Ever since I was born there has been a videogame in my house (Odyssey) and a computer (Apple IIc), so as you can see my passion comes from a long time! But today I try not to spend so much time on MMORPGs, playing DDR instead so I can spend my game hours practicing some kind of sport.
I also like movies and reading. Guess what my favorite movies are? All Star Wars! Easy, huh? I would love to be a Jedi... or a Sith! I also love all Kubrick, Lars von Trier and Almodovar movies. About books, my favorite author is Gore Vidal, just love his crazy, funny, amazing stories like Myra and Kalki. I really like Fante's books but I hated the movie Ask the Dust, and now I've just finished Fante's The Wine of Youth.
Another huge passion in my life is music. I won't even start telling everything I like because I will never stop. It depends on the day, mood, weather and... whatever. All I can say is that I always need a soundtrack for my life and I can always express myself with a song.
Traveling is another thing I really enjoy. I always try to save my money so I can travel on vacation. Going somewhere else, seeing different places, meeting new people, speaking another language (this can be the funny part, especially when you don't know the language), that's something magical for me. I already went to the USA a few times, and once to Europe, visited a few countries. I also traveled to Latin America and Brazil a few times. My last trip was to Canada, a very beautiful country. I'm thinking about the next one now, any suggestions?
